The use of horses in a domestic environment brings with it many different stresses and strains on the joints, e.g. riding, shoeing, stabling, concussion. By feeding a joint supplement, such as Equine America Cortaflex or Cortaflex HA you can help to combat some of these excess stressors and improve the performance and longevity of your horse.
Equine America Cortaflex, fortified with ASU and Silicon, provides the key amino acids required to maintain healthy joint tissue and cartilage plus Hyaluronic acid, a major component of joint fluid.
To choose the right type of Equine America Cortaflex you need to decide what you require of your horse. A healthy horse (old or young) up to a medium level of work would require regular Cortaflex; similarly a retired horse with low level joint discomfort would also benefit.
Cortaflex HA should be given to competition horses or those in hard work at a maintenance level, whilst horses with a degenerative joint condition or damage would require Cortaflex HA at the high dose. The high dose of Cortaflex HA is also recommended prior to hard competition to maximise flexion and cushioning.
Equine America Cortaflex contains the key isolates of Chondroitin and Glucosamine, which are both made from amino acids that are involved in the structure of cartilage. Cortaflex, therefore, provides the key amino acids to stimulate the body into making its own Chondroitin and Glucosamine. By feeding the smaller, key isolates, Cortaflex achieves greater absorption within the small intestine so therefore more product becomes available to the horse for him to use.
Cortaflex Powder is composed of dehydrated alfalfa meal, Isolated Soya Protein, Dextrose, Avocado Soybean Unsaponifiables, Collagen Hydrolysate, Sodium Hyaluronate (HA) - 7100mg/kg, Vegetable Oil, Monosilicic Acid and Sulphur.
The Amino Acid additives in Cortaflex Powder are Glycine, L-Glutamine, L-Proline, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, L-Arginine, L-Histidine, L-Alanine, L-Serine, L-Valine, and L-Isoleucine.
