The Shires Equikind Jointed Dutch Gag is lightweight but very strong and yet is quite gentle on the mouth because of the nylon.
The jointed mouth 3 ring gag demonstrates a nutcracker action and has the capacity to use leverage on the poll. The lower the rein, the greater the leverage. Can be used with pelham roundings. The Equikind material is similar to rubber but with the benefits of being lighter and more flexible.
It is particularly suitable for young or sensitive horses. 18mm mouthpiece The length of the sides varies with bit size. The 4.5" and 5" bits come with sides that measure 145mm from top to bottom, whilst the 5.5" bit has 180mm sides
