Leadropes
Lead ropes are basic equine equipment - something you will use almost daily along with the halter or headcollar, whether for moving him from place to place or tethering him while grooming or tacking up.
There are many different styles and materials to choose from and you will likely need a few for different purposes.
Lead ropes need to be around six feet long (though leather ones are often shorter). Cotton ropes with a thick diameter are easier on the hands, but synthetic materials are more durable.
Leather leads are difficult to tie, but look good in the show ring and are very strong and supple if propertly maintained. Flat nylon webbing leadropes with a chain are favoured for training.
