Grazing Muzzles are a controversial piece of horse equipment. The grazing muzzle can be the difference between allowing a horse or pony turnout and exercise or keeping them in a stable 24/7 during the summer months.
Grazing muzzles have been shown to reduce grass intake by approx 80% by reducing bite size and increasing feeding time. This makes it easier, therefore, to manage the weight of overweight horses and ponies and to control the diet of Insulin resistant and/or laminitic animals.
